Bio
I was born in a small Oregon city in 1981 and grew up mostly in the NW of Oregon. All the kids in my family [there are four of us] were home-schooled and so we could do just about anything we wanted and call it school. Because we were home-schooled we never did "normal" sports like basketball or tennis. Instead we learned to ski, snowboard, windsurf and just about all other outdoor sports. I grew up loving nature and the outdoors. I feel very blessed to have been raised in such a unique way and I feel that has played a part in how I seel life and capture it.
When I was about 10 my dad let me use the family camera [ an old Pentax that was his father's ] and from then on I did what came natural. I learned by doing. I remember taking as many rolls of film as I could to find what lense, exposure, and angle was best. This may not have been the quickest way to learn to shoot but it worked and although I shoot mostly digital now I still feel very at home with film.
I now live and work in Japan with my beautiful wife, travel as much as I can and shoot every day. Please feel free to leave a comment or email me if you have any questions.
